Large appliances are the category where the number on the listing is furthest from the number you pay. Delivery, connection, taking the old machine away and recycling it are charged separately by most retailers, at rates that differ considerably — and those differences are frequently larger than the gap between the machine prices.

A shop that is a little dearer on the appliance and includes installation and removal is often the cheaper purchase. The only comparison worth making is the total at your door, with the old one gone.

Integrated and freestanding are different markets

An integrated dishwasher is built into the kitchen behind a door panel; a freestanding one stands on its own. They are not interchangeable, they are priced differently, and integrated models usually carry a fitting cost that freestanding ones do not.
